What is the hardest part of middle school for you? What might you be able to do to make it easier for yourself?

Objective:

Given a list of 20 vocabulary words, students will choose the vocabulary word that correctly answers the question at least 3/4's of the time.

Given a written Memoir of a Toy, I will pair share and edit my partner's memoir for grammar and effectiveness using the grammar and content codes.

Given the essay, Role-Playing and Discovery by Jerry Pinkney, students will analyze the text for cause and effect by using a cause and effect chart correctly.

Classwork:

Complete the questions for Unit 4 in the vocabulary worksheet. Pair share and correct each others work. Go back and fix any mistakes. Discuss as a class.

Pair share your Memoirs of a Toy essay with your table partner. Use the grammar and content codes to make each other's work better.

Interrupted reading style, analyze the short essay Role-Playing Discovery for Author's Purpose and Cause & Effect structure. Create a cause and effect chart.
